2010 New Jersey Schools of Character

Reynolds Middle School: Emerging School of Character

The goal at Reynolds Middle School is to produce a well-rounded student who not only meets academic standards but leaves with good moral character. When you walk through the halls of Reynolds, you will sense a feeling of  respect from all stakeholders. “Everybody! Everywhere! All the time!” is a well-known mantra at Reynolds. When everyone works together the result is young people  who develop virtues, a positive attitude, and a moral code of responsibility that recognizes a diverse society. Reynolds focuses on two themes; “Positive Attitude Produces Positive Results” and “Leadership is Action not Position”.  Through this, Reynolds wants to develop students of good character who remain positive and see their leadership capabilities.
"The impact of character education can be seen in all that we do.  There is a climate of mutual respect where the core ethical values are intentionally infused into all aspects of school life.  Students can be seen showing respect, working hard and having fun.   As a result, our school is a positive, peaceful place to work and learn!"    - Mrs. Gmitter, Character Education Teacher
